*** DARION MEETS THE QUEEN OF ROCK
On August 9th, Darion got to meet Pat Benatar and her husband Neil Geraldo before their show in Westbury, NY. They discussed possibly doing a show together to benefit Cystic Fibrosis. We will keep you posted.


*** AMERICAN IDOL SONG WRITING CONTEST
American Idol had a song writing contest for season 6. Out of over 30,000 entries, Darion's "FLY AWAY" made it to the top 100 songs during the contest.


*** DARION TAKES A JOURNEY ... AGAIN!
November 23rd, 2005 - Darion visited her friend Aaron Dilks and the boys from Journey at The Beacon Theater in New York City. After another great performance from the band Darion hung out with Aaron and Neil Schon. Neil and Darion spoke about some project they were working on. Darion gave Neil an early Christmas gift (see photo section on this site). It was great to see the guys and especially Aaron.


*** DARION OPENS FOR AN AMERICAN IDOL FINALIST
Darion performed at the first annual Freedom Festival held at Dowling College. On Saturday 7/24 she opened the festival with her new single "Proud to be Americans are we". On Sunday 7/25 she opened for American Idol finalist Josh Gracin. Josh made the top 4 in the second season. See photos on her photo gallery.


*** HANGING DOWNTOWN WITH FOGHAT
On 5/6/04 Darion and the band were invited to hang out with the boys of Foghat during their performance at The Downtown in Farmingdale. Foghats drummer (Roger) is a friend and fan of Darions music.


*** DARION TAKES A JOURNEY
On 5/30/03, Darion was asked by Journey's tour manager to come down the PNC Bank Art Center in New Jersey to watch the show and meet the band. Also performing that night was REO Speed wagon and Styx. Darion had dinner with Tommy Shaw (Styx) and the whole REO group. After the show Darion got to meet the boys from Journey. It was the time of her life. She has always admired Neil Schon and Jonathan Caines song writing skills.


*** DARION AND THE TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA
Trans-Siberian's management had heard "Miss my loving" from Darion's CD and asked her to audition for their upcoming tour and possibly record with them on their next CD. They are still in the process of picking a featured female vocalist but Darion is definitely a strong contender.


*** TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME
On August 25, 2002 - Darion sang the National Anthem in front of a 7,000 basball fans. She was proud to show her suport for the Long Island Ducks.



*** DARION SHOWS LONG ISLAND THAT AMERICA CARES.
On 10/08/01, Darion took part in a major fund raiser event sponsored by WBLI and Sports Plus. She lent her vocal support by performing the National Anthem as well as two shows through out the day. The event raised over $13,000 for Americare's "Hero" fund. The event was covered by channel 55 news.
